Our Treatment
Our Types of Treatment
Medically Assisted Treatment (MAT)
Treatment for addiction that includes the use of medications along with counseling and other support.
Treatment that includes medication is often the best choice for opioid addiction.
Individual / Family Counseling
Clients are guided through learning to address their issues with their family and other loved ones when possible.
Intensive Outpatient Program (IOP)
IOP groups are designed to encourage our clients to identify factors influencing their recovery and develop coping mechanisms that promote sobriety.
Case Management
We treat each client as an individual with their own individual treatment needs. We work with you to meet your unique recovery needs.
Medically Assisted Treatment (MAT)
MAT is treatment for addiction that includes the use of medication along with counseling and other support. Treatment that includes medication is often beneficial in treating opioid addiction.
Our medically assisted treatment (MAT) is coordinated by our physician, Dr. Frires. This involves meeting weekly initially, with progression to monthly appointments as the client becomes more stable on their medication and more confident in their recovery.
During the doctor appointments the physician monitors the client’s progress in treatment, adjustment to the medications and assessment of other medical needs.
This includes but is not limited to various integrative medical practices:
Nutritional counseling
Utilization of appropriate vitamins and nutritional supplements
Lifestyle intervention including stress reduction (meditation, exercise, yoga, breathing)
We specialize in Suboxone® for opioid addiction, which contains buprenorphine, a medication that reduces cravings. If cravings continue to be a problem, our medical staff will adjust medications or assist in finding other ways to reduce cravings.
The main advantages of buprenorphine are:
• It is unlikely to overdose on buprenorphine if taken properly.
• Buprenorphine is long acting often without any major side effects and no euphoric effect.
Buprenorphine is taken as a tablet or film strip that dissolves under the tongue. It is NOT chewed or swallowed.
Individual/Family Counseling
Intensive Outpatient Program (IOP)
IOP groups are designed to encourage our clients to learn to recognize the influence of family history, including history of substance use and trauma, and other family dynamics on their own substance abuse.
For example, we utilize:
Motivational Interviewing
Psychoeducation
Cognitive Behavioral Therapy
Trauma informed care
After clients successfully complete IOP, they progress to attending Aftercare Group, and eventually Maintenance Group.
IOP groups meet on Monday, Wednesday and Thursday, with morning, afternoon and evening groups.
